TD Bank Group Donates $150,000 to Support Creative Arts Workshops for Northern Indigenous Youth
Three-year commitment through TD Bank Group brings music and arts programming to Pikangikum First Nation in Northwestern Ontario
PIKANGIKUM FIRST NATION, ON — Artscan Circle is pleased to announce that TD Bank Group (TD) has donated $150,000 over three years to support Creative Art Workshops for Northern Indigenous Youth.
The funding will support arts and music programming in Pikangikum First Nation, an Ojibwe community located on Pikangikum Lake in Northwestern Ontario, approximately 100 KMS northwest of Red Lake. Home to a population of 3,500, Pikangikum is accessible only by plane, boat, or winter road, making access to music programming a challenge and profoundly impactful.
“Northern Indigenous youth are some of Canada's most underserved and overlooked populations. We partner with remote Indigenous communities across the north, shipping instruments and flying artists to these communities where they run workshops and introduce new generations to the healing power of music, art, acting, poetry, and dance. We believe in truth and reconciliation.
— Artscan Circle
TD has been a strong and consistent supporter of Artscan Circle’s music and art programming in Pikangikum First Nation, recognizing the transformative role that creative expression plays in the lives of youth from Indigenous communities.
On behalf of everyone at Artscan Circle, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks to TD. Your belief in the power of the arts to heal, connect, and transform lives means everything to us. Your investment does not simply fund programming. It opens doors. It puts instruments in young hands. It brings artists into rooms where, for some youth, a song or a painting may become a lifeline.
TD’s generosity helps us walk the path of truth and reconciliation — not just in words, but in action. Thank you for standing alongside us in this work. We are honoured by your trust and inspired by your commitment to building a more inclusive Canada.
