The Impact of Music in Pikangikum First Nation
The Music Program in Pikangikum First Nation is thriving! This year, participants of all ages have had the opportunity to practice keyboard and piano skills in Artscan Circle’s after-school program, running Monday through Friday, under the guidance of Morris George-Ellington.
In June, Artscan Circle’s Spring Recital was a remarkable success, drawing attendance from community members, educators, and first responders. In the fall, two crates of donated instruments were sent to the wider community.
This December, in collaboration with Eenchokay Birchstick School, Artscan Circle hosted its Annual Christmas Recital. We are deeply honored to collaborate with Pikangikum and continually inspired by the dedication and talent of their students.
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing funders, TD Ready Commitment, for their generous support!

Meet Clinton Strang, a dedicated and beautiful piano player who will be submitting his application to attend a music program at the University of Manitoba. Good luck, Clinton! We're rooting for you!
Testimonial
“On Tuesday December 9, 2025, at 6pm we had our annual Christmas recital and dinner. It was a huge success; we had over 150 persons in attendance. The performances were great; we had performances from the piano ensemble, the strings ensemble, the senior and junior choirs as well as our guest performer Dr. Daniel Ramjattan a classical guitarist. Many thanks to ArtsCan Circle for their continued support and contributions into making these events a great success.”
